Wedding inspired styled shoot at Company 251 in Aurora, Illinois | A Hidden Gem Venue

When I walked into Company 251 for a wedding inspired styled shoot, I immediately felt inspired.

There's something about a space that gives you room to create and this was one of those places. The lighting, the textures, the way everything flowed.. The venue felt open, intentional and full of potential - like a space that could truly bring any wedding vision to life effortlessly.

Styled shoots like this are where creatives like myself get to slow down, try new ideas, and really lean into the kind of storytelling we love - capturing moments that feel natural, connected and true.

A space designed for Creativity

This styled shoot was hosted and designed by the incredible Ashley Bowling and was designed with three main creative stations.

What made it stand out was how the rest of the venue remained open. Instead of filling every corner, the space allowed for movement, exploration, and creativity. It gave the opportunity to step back, take in the soft natural light from the cloudy day, and use the architecture of the venue as part of the story. The entire venue space felt intentional from the bride and groom suites, to a lounge area and even the elevator had its own unique photo op moment (you'll have to visit the space to see what I am talking about)

The Harp Bride

One of the most unique elements of the shoot was the harp bride, featuring Bolor (instagram: bolorxjuan)

Paired with the harp, she brought such a soft almost ethereal feel to the space. It was one of those moments that naturally draws you in and doesn't need much direction, just observation and intention.

Capturing Real connection

The couple's station featured Sara and Mike Brydl (instagram: sara_brydl) a real couple, which made the experience feel even more authentic.

Photographing a couple who share a connection allowed moments to unfold naturally and was about capturing what was already there between the couple.

This station allowed us creatives to move throughout the space and use everything the venue had to offer.

This is where Company 251 really shines. With multiple levels, getting ready suites, a lounge space, and even an on site piano, there's so much variety in one place.

You don't have to go searching for photo spots - they're already there, naturally built into the space.

The Details

The detail station focused on all the intentional elements that bring a wedding day together - tablescapes with beautiful florals, flat lays, a custom cake, signage and bar top decor.

These are the pieces that alot of thought and prep go into and hold so much meaning. Taking the time to capture them thoughtfully adds depth to the full story.

A vision brought to life

This styled shoot hosted & designed by Ashley Bowling, flowed seamlessly - from the setup of each station to the overall vision. It created a space where creativity came naturally and everyone involved could truly step into the experience.

Styled shoots aren't just about creating beautiful images - they're about growth, connection and stepping into new creative spaces.

This shoot allowed me to refine my approach, try new ideas, and continue evolving in the way I capture weddings - focus on moments that feel genuine and images that reflect what it actually felt like to be there.
